We set off in search of a working market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route: first the MK Tunnel towards Aztarian, then the LVA Tunnel to Lake Vrock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stop in front of the entrance to West Lake Vrock and ride on horseback to Vrock Landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way we drop by the Puzzle Labyrinth, north-west of Vrock Landing. It is an adventure maze built by the Factional Fight crew and opened with great fanfare on 18 August 2018, streamed live. The story: our brother has gone missing, and to get him back you have to make it through the labyrinth and Puzzle City, reach Puzzle Castle and defeat the Puzzle King. The reward is a unique Puzzle king’s crystal ball to display on your deed. The labyrinth was left open for good and players still run it today, some even against the clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A warning at the entrance: the labyrinth is a dangerous place, bring plenty of water and bandages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the sign with the story: if you want to see your brother again, you must make it to Puzzle Castle, beyond Puzzle City, at the end of the labyrinth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally Vrock Landing. On the way we look into the Vrock Landing Inn – the merchants only sell, they don’t buy anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ride away from Vrock Landing, but the company won’t let go – an aged troll keeps trailing me for a long while. In the next tunnel I stop in one of the unlit side branches, with someone’s boat sitting in the dark. Maybe there’s something cool here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An aged huge spider fell along the way, and the long tunnel ends in a dead end. I’ll dig a bit further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mine upwards and after a quarter of an hour the wall breaks – there is something further after all, another passage runs on behind it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone made themselves an exit to Vinum Caseus through this tunnel – I come out right under a huge statue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least I have a new horse – Trotblood. Ebony black, 65 trait points, including lightning movement and fleeter movement. First I had to kill a mature angry scorpion, with the vineyards and the statue of Vinum Caseus in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back on the ship, I sail through the tunnel past New Meriden and Dawnshore out onto open water – Westwood Docks and Westwood Harbour ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I see an interesting place, I have to check it out. Huge, evenly cut slopes on the shore – probably the remains of yet another deed. Not far away stands the guard tower Godrobotswife 474.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone did some serious terraforming here, and all that is left of it today are empty roads and flat ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paved squares and ramps leading nowhere – only Trotblood keeps me company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back on the ship. Another tunnel lies ahead, and an abandoned boat bobs by the shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A crowded place – the map is teeming with deeds and guard towers. From the E9-E10 Knarr Road Canal I turn north, along the E10 and D10 Knarr Canals towards Grawklands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Made it – I sail out of the tunnel (picking up a Golden Feather on the way), with a small lake, The Bouillon Bayou, and another canal ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are on the other side now – a straight run to Glasshollow from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colourful here – The Rusty Anchor. Purple banners, a boat up on the slipway, numbered pens (Pen 5, Pen 6) and a row of stalls along the waterfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can tell this part of the map is more civilised than my neck of the woods. In The Rusty Anchor I went round ten merchants, and one more in Wolfpack – they all only sell, none of them buys anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lit waterfront with braziers and horse statues, and further on the blue lights of another harbour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I moor at Friendly Corner and ride on – ahead lies the settlement of Czubek, all in blue lights, with boats on the waterfront and a huge statue towering over the houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And another settlement – Posto Sul Da Guilda. A cobbled waterfront, half-timbered houses, wagons, horses and a cow in the paddock, and a red ship by the shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glasshollow welcomes us – a cobbled avenue with a burning brazier in the middle and rows of stone stalls on the right. Maybe this is finally where we find a working market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glasshollow has a scale Vrock Landing can’t match. A chequered avenue between rows of stone stalls leads to a gate hung with banners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside one of the buildings – golden rugs, rows of benches, brass braziers and a fireplace at the end of the hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The market – as far as I remember, it was much bigger a few years ago. In Glasshollow Market Reloaded I went round fifteen merchants, and four more in Glasshollow Bulk Market. They all only sell – still nobody buying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glasshollow has a market, so I check what people have – buy cheaper, sell higher \ud83d\ude09 A stone chisel bought from Merchant_Irbiska for 80 copper went to Pingling for 1.5 silver. Then a pickaxe, rake and shovel for 2s 35c – sold for 4.7s: the pickaxe and rake to Grapekoolaid, the shovel to Vergou. Shipped by mail through the spirit house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While foraging along the shore I found a supreme silver coin, and a moment later an old looking casket in the grass. Inside – a piece of parchment: a rare Xanadu old treasure map, with an X and notes giving a rough estimate of the location. We might head straight from here on a treasure hunt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I keep foraging in the seaweed and another coin drops – a rare twenty coin, copper. The spare forage I simply threw away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
