Today we’ll try to visit Glasshollow in the NW quarter of the map. I’d like to buy a few tools for grinding there. Apparently there’s some market running in the area.<\/p>\n

With good winds we’ll get there fairly quickly. First we need to gather a scout kit. If I have to spend the night somewhere in the wild, it’s worth having these things with me. A tent lets you respawn where it was pitched after death. Shafts – to fence off a 2×2 area faster. Gate lock – so nothing eats us while we’re afk.<\/p>\n\n\n

Anchors aweigh and… just under 9 km\/h. Getting there may take a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The amount of work put into building this tunnel is mind-boggling. You sail and sail with no end in sight, and it’s wide and tall – mining one tile is roughly 50 pickaxe swings. Good grind:D<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon we’ll reach one of the oldest settlements – Maes Knoll. The oldest until recently. It was disbanded lately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing interesting, we sail at just under 9km\/h. A pity you can’t walk on deck or grind. Every action gets interrupted after sailing a certain distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A straight route, south along the lake… And the standard question – where am I?.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some random village… It’s not on the map, so we still don’t know where we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xanadu is big. You travel for 4 hours and don’t meet anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We continue the next day. I left MK and head south from H16 to J15. Then through the tunnel to I12 and we’re almost there:)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s some bug – sometimes when turning you can fall out of the boat, just like falling off a horse. Not much fun when you fall out on a steep slope with no stamina or next to something like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now we need to find the tunnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It looks quite nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And we jump into the tunnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supposedly you just need to sail along the walls, but such a complete lack of lighting isn’t fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re on the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people do it nicely by putting up signs counting down how much is left to the end of the tunnel. Here, as you can see, there’s nothing like that. You sail for 30 minutes and start wondering whether the game has looped or you’re in the same place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We head back home from the north. As usual, most of the time we’re in the middle of nowhere…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We made it to Glasshollow. Terribly poor, hard to buy anything. We’re home now. The Fortress in G18 looks very cosy. You can see the rift too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
